| The McDonald's Managers Ray Kroc Award is based on achieving superior results in selected areas of performance. Recipients must be able to show clear and convincing evidence of their excellence in quality, service, cleanliness, people, and sales. As captain of his/her restaurant team, the Ray Kroc Award Manager must show a decrease in employee turnover and significant and steady sales increases.
According to McDonald's VP Debbie Stroud, in the process of achieving these goals, Ray Kroc Award Managers typically acquire a high degree of respect and support from their employees, which directly leads to low turnover and enhanced sales. "Ideally, it's a perfect circle that starts with a solid, strong, caring manager," Stroud adds.
According to McDonald's East Point Owner/Operator Leon Goodrum, Cathy Bryant is among the best and brightest. "She 100% deserves this honor and we're all proud and grateful to have her on our team," Goodrum added. Leon Goodrum, dba Goodrum Enterprises, has been with the company since 1982 and owns six Atlanta McDonald's franchises.
Ray Kroc, who founded McDonald's at age 52, built the business because one of his core values was faith in the people who worked for him. Kroc was known for saying "None of us is as good as all of us" because he believed that every person involved in the company equally contributed to its success, which is one of the reasons this award is named for him.
McDonald's is the world's leading foodservice retailer with more than 30,000 restaurants serving 47 million customers each day in 121 countries. Approximately 80 percent of McDonald's restaurants are owned and operated by independent, local businessmen and women.
